CTDS is a rapidly expanding veterinary clinical pathology laboratory with an excellent reputation for analytical quality and providing a rapid, friendly service. We take great pride in the quality of our clinical pathology support across the range of disciplines and are looking for three colleagues to join our team.

Medical Laboratory Scientist - Haematologist / Microbiologist: - posted November 2007

CTDS is a small, specialist veterinary diagnostic laboratory providing pathology and diagnostic support to veterinary surgeons. Due to expansion we require enthusiastic MLSO's with experience in haematology and or microbiology and ideally other aspects of laboratory medicine at our laboratory in Garforth, West Yorkshire .
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced MLSO wishing to enter the veterinary laboratory environment as full training will be given in all aspects of comparative veterinary diagnostic testing.
Duties include processing samples through our haematology, clinical chemistry and microbiology departments in accordance with strict QC/QA procedures as well as dealing with client enquiries and some general office duties.
In addition to experience in a laboratory environment the successful applicant needs to have good keyboard and communication skills and the ability to work as part of a small and flexible team. This is a full time position 9.00am – 5.30pm weekdays with alternate Saturday mornings on a rota basis.

Resident Clinical Pathologist : - posted December 2006 - Position filled

This position would be suitable for a veterinarian with companion animal clinical experience who wishes to train and establish a career in clinical pathology.
Training will be provided in all areas of clinical pathology by means of internal and external placements and practical experience on the bench. Candidates will be expected to undertake the Diploma examinations of the Royal College of Pathologists after a three year period.

Candidates must have a real enthusiasm for laboratory medicine and delivering excellent clinical service. Good communication skills, IT competence, a willingness to participate fully in a small closely knit team and to share and contribute new ideas and knowledge are highly desirable.

Medical Laboratory Assistants: - posted December 2006 - filled
A Medical Laboratory Assistant is required for a veterinary diagnostic laboratory in Garforth, West Yorkshire . The work involves collecting samples submitted by post from the local sorting office, preparing and labeling of samples, input of data into the lab computer system, and performance of some testing procedures. Some general administrative duties will also be required. We are looking for someone with good keyboard and communication skills and a minimum of three GCSE's or equivalent. Hours 7.30 -11.30am Tuesday to Saturday. While the post is part time we would consider applications from candidates looking for a full time position (37.5 hours/week). Prior laboratory experience is not required as full training will be given.
