The CTDS/TDDS partnership:
CTDS (Carmichael Torrance Diagnostic Services) Ltd, based in Garforth, Leeds, West Yorkshire, was formed in 2004 as a veterinary diagnostic laboratory with the purpose of providing high quality laboratory results and interpretations with client care and case continuity underpinning its objectives.
“We believe that our strength in the veterinary diagnostic market comes from providing both high quality results and also a personalised diagnostic service to our veterinary clients where we know them both as professionals and friends. Often we feel this important relationship is lost as organisations succeed, grow and as a result become larger and so paramount in our philosophy is to manage our expansion carefully so as to maintain this relationship with our clients. The partnership with TDDS gives us the added economic advantages and stability of being “larger” whilst allowing us the freedom and flexibility to change and improve our services. Although geographically separate, we believe the partnership of CTDS with TDDS strengthens and adds to flexibility of our testing methodologies as well as adding additional expertise and support from like minded people with similar business beliefs.”
TDDS (Torrance Diamond Diagnostic Services) Ltd, based at the University of Exeter, was formed in 2001 as a veterinary diagnostic laboratory with the purpose of providing high quality laboratory results and interpretations with client care and case continuity underpinning its objectives. Under the veterinary direction of its co-founder Andy Torrance, TDDS has now become well established as a cost effective provider of rapid turnaround, high quality results which encompass a broad spectrum of tests.
“In founding TDDS we wanted to put our names to a concept of delivering diagnostic results and advice through a compact, highly efficient, quality laboratory with open channels of communication. The partnership between expert clinical pathologists and the expertise of our clients in clinical practice was to be optimized to provide high quality diagnostic results, case continuity and good outcomes for our veterinary patients. We felt there was a need for a more committed use of expert judgment in the interpretation of numerical profiles, results and cytological and haematological morphology to make a genuine impact on case management and the clarity of diagnostic thinking. We believe that this combined with a willingness and ability to disseminate information and images via telemedicine would change the way diagnostic clinical pathology and diagnostic imaging would be delivered in the future."
"
The rapid growth of our company, the partnership with CTDS, the shared sponsorship of the training of an exciting young diagnostician at Cambridge University, are all testaments to the way these ideas have gained acceptance and credibility with our veterinary colleagues. We intend to continue developing these ideas and concepts while listening and responding to the needs of the profession in practice."
We are pleased to announce the opening of RTDS Ltd in February 2006. More news to follow. |
